It's almost time.

I knew this day would come but I was hoping to put it off for a little while longer. The absolute end of summer. We took the boat out of the water last weekend, I need to winterize the camper this weekend and the last straw, I am going to have to turn on the heat.

I'm a big fan of open windows and I don't like to turn on the heat or a/c unless it gets really uncomfortable but last night got pretty chilly. It was only down to 63 degrees in the house but the family is starting to take notice and since it will hit the 30's tonight I think this is the last day I can put it off. If I'm going to turn on the heat, it might as well start snowing.

With all of the toys put away and football season coming to a close, Halloween is once again going to be the speed bump of summer where we are tripped and sent headlong into winter. But I wouldn't have it any other way. I like all of the seasons and the changes that bring them in, it's just when they tease us with summer-like temperatures one week only to whip you around into the cold the next. That's just unfair.
