Testing time Part II

As I stated yesterday, I have a plan to better our children's education.

Take the state out of the schools. I've always felt that a child's education should be paid for by the parents, not the general tax paying population. People without children should not have to pay for my kid's education. Once all of your kids have graduated high school you should be free!

The state average yearly tuition for each student is around $6800. If we all had to pay that much each year to get an education for our child, we would be more interested in what they are learning. Then we would be more likely to hold the school and teachers accountable if the children are not getting the proper education. If it's run like a business, we could send our children to a better school in the area if the one down the street isn't cutting it. It might cost a bit more but it would be worth it in the long run.

Then when the bad schools start losing money, they will either start to do better or close. The same with any other business. In order to maintain a consistent education, the federal government could create the testing for schools (at random) that would ensure that our children, nationwide are learning the skills they need to compete in the global economy. It may sound like socialism but that's what is kicking our ass right now anyway. Without this type of preparation we are going to continually fall behind the rest of the world.

By giving our kids a proper education today, maybe we can take back our country from the foreign shareholders that are keeping so much of our money now. But that's another story that we will cover next time.
