It must be spring!

I don't need a ground hog or weathermen to tell me when it's spring. I just look to my children. It happens every year after we get that first warm day in January, they dump their winter coats and put on the spring jacket. It doesn't matter that, today for example, it's colder outside than it was in December when they had the heavy jacket on. Nope, we had one warm day so winter is over.

So now the younger boy will stand at the bus stop and shiver with his jacket unzipped and no gloves or hat because it's a beautiful 12 degree spring morning. The elder boy doesn't have it that bad since he is driving but as I always tell him, "What if your car breaks down and you have to walk somewhere?" He just responds with the typical shoulder shrug and grunt.

My wise "old man" advice once again goes unheeded and they look at me as if I'm the biggest moron on the planet because I am the only one who doesn't know that 12 degrees after a 60 degree day is warmer than 12 degrees before a 60 degree day. Maybe it's all part of the new technology that us old people can't understand. I'm going to dig out my shorts 'cause if the boys say it's spring, it must be spring.
